How to volunteer

|

Volunteer now!

To volunteer your time, simply e-mail us your name, child’s name, and their teacher’s name.

Browse the volunteer opportunities to see if there something that interests you, but don’t be shy about contacting us. We can always use some help!

Why volunteer?

Because it’s fun!

But also because excellent schools don’t just happen, they are created. Schools with strong parent involvement programs experience profound benefits for students, parents, teachers, and administrators. Research shows that when parents are involved in students’ education, those students generally have higher grades and test scores, better attendance, and more consistently completed homework.

Every day offers a fresh opportunity to get involved with your child.

Help with Holiday Food Drive

|

The PTA holiday food drive is under way and lots of food is coming in!

Here are the details on what we need:

  • On next Friday the 16th right after school, we need people to help load the food into our cars and drive it over to Kellogg Middle School. If we work fast, this is done within an hour to 1.5 hrs max. If you have a dolly (sp?) to load boxes, please bring it.

  • On Saturday the 17th, we need a group of people to arrive at Kellogg at 9am to help with the big district effort to get the food sorted into boxes. This is a great experience for the whole family and is a very tangible way for our kids to experience service. If you can make it, bring a wagon, wheelbarrow, or some sort of cart so you don’t have to carry all the heavy food around! They ask for a 2 hr commitment, but you can just come and do what you can do. :)

Please contact president@parkwoodpta.org if you are interested!

Ms. Ploudre and the 6th grade teachers are looking for a volunteer to come once per week for 30-60 minutes to work with a sixth grade boy on his math and reading skills. Any time except Friday mornings will work.

If you are interested, please contact Ms. Ploudre at laura.ploudre@shorelineschools.org

Thank you so much!
