Help with Holiday Food Drive

The PTA holiday food drive is under way and lots of food is coming in!

Here are the details on what we need:

On next Friday the 16th right after school, we need people to help load the food into our cars and drive it over to Kellogg Middle School. If we work fast, this is done within an hour to 1.5 hrs max. If you have a dolly (sp?) to load boxes, please bring it.

On Saturday the 17th, we need a group of people to arrive at Kellogg at 9am to help with the big district effort to get the food sorted into boxes. This is a great experience for the whole family and is a very tangible way for our kids to experience service. If you can make it, bring a wagon, wheelbarrow, or some sort of cart so you don’t have to carry all the heavy food around! They ask for a 2 hr commitment, but you can just come and do what you can do. :)

Please contact president@parkwoodpta.org if you are interested!

Help us celebrate Teacher & Staff Appreciation Week

Do you love your Parkwood teachers?

Now is a great to time to give them our thanks and praise!

May 2nd-6th (next week) is Teacher & Staff Appreciation Week!

This year we’re joining together to show our teachers & staff how much they mean to us by doing something special for them EACH DAY!

Monday, May 2nd - Mondays are always the longest day of the week, so we’d like to brighten each teacher’s day with flowers! If each student brought in a flower for their teacher, they would have a beautiful bouquet at the end of the day. PTA will provide vases for each room.

Tuesday, May 3rd – Coffee/Starbucks. We know our teachers love their coffee! Today you can bring in a Starbucks card for your teacher, or something else you know is a favorite and that they would enjoy.

Wednesday, May 4th - Potluck Lunch. Bring a delicious dish to our teachers lounge to share. PTA will provide drinks. There’s no need to make a quadruple batch – just bring a dish there will lots of options. PTA will provide napkins, plates and utensils.

Thursday, May 5th – Special note/picture/card for your teacher. Have your student draw or write something for your teacher telling them how special they are and why they are a great teacher.

Friday, May 6th – Desserts for our “sweet” teachers. Bring in a dessert item to the teacher’s lounge. PTA will provide Starbucks coffee boxes. Again, no need for 48 cupcakes…a ½ dozen will do.

PTA will be around on Wednesday & Friday morning to collect the food from you or the student you are sending it with. You can also leave it at the front desk throughout the morning if you don’t have time to get it to the lounge or don’t know where to go.

And, as always, you are welcome to show your teachers and our staff that you appreciate then in your own way during this special week or any day of the year.

THANK YOU!
