Parkwood PTA presents an award to an outstanding staff member or teacher at Parkwood Elementary.
Dandylyon Drama is currently teaching the two Drama classes happening after school for kids in grades 1-3 and 4-6. They are offering to work with Parkwood parents to put on a Play in the Spring. Children can audition whether they are currently in Drama class or not. In order to produce this Play, we will need two primary points of contact for Dandylyon to work with. Listed below are the tasks required of these parent volunteers:
PRODUCING A PLAY AT YOUR SCHOOL 2 Parent Producers (Split the following jobs between them) - Coordinate Parent Volunteers - Communicate with Director - Communicate with Parents - Communicate with PTSA - Handle Audition Paperwork - Apply for Performance Space
Chaperone Coordinator - Sign up parents to chaperone rehearsals - Help parents become district approved volunteers
Costume/Props Committee Lead - Picks Up Costumes from Director - Coordinate actors trying on costumes during 2 rehearsals - Do a couple loads of laundry - Communicate with other committee members
Set Committee Lead - Coordinate with Director for vision - Some minor building, painting, set up - Can be as simple or ornate as you want - Communicate with other committee members
Program Coordinator - Uses a computer template - Gathers student and play information - Takes student pictures if desired - Coordinates the programs printing
If every student involved has one parent volunteering to do just one part, we’ll have a great show with no one doing a lot of work!
Those parents who are interested, should contact Debbie Olhoeft, PTA Secretary and parent volunteer for Drama grades 1-3. debbie@ducharme.cc
