Math Olympiad:
NW reported on our efforts to get this program started at PW for grades 4-6. We have a volunteer to run the program and she’ll work with the VPs of Enrichment to find a day and send home a flyer. We expect that this year we’ll get started but we won’t compete in March
Discussion on how to go electronic w/ PTA communications:
Difficult to manage due to the lack of computer access for all families, families have to opt in rather than opt out of personal info items $ various forms of permission needed. It was agreed to send out the current PTA directory to all families we have email addresses for, and to publish the email address to request one.
Nominating Committee:
Trying to get international committee more involved; NW working with Mary Servais. Suggestion to invite one or more members to our next meeting. NL asked all members to please email her as to which job you’d like for next year.
PTA Council Update by NW:
Standing committee for Healthy Lifestyles now formed; PW can form one internally. Discussion on how to submit questionnaire about the Food drive—we agreed to be frank about our community’s lack of resources and the fact that many of our families are recipients of the food drive, so it isn’t fair to expect an equal contribution from us. NW and JS will draft a response.
