We need to have three new signers on the checking account and have volunteers. The board voted their approval They will be added ASAP.
Next year’s PTA board meetings will fall on the 3rd Tuesday of the month at 7pm starting in August.
We approved a $50 budget for getting treats for the steel drum band’s performance at Central Market.
We had a lengthy discussion about fundraising for next year. There have been several concerns over the amount of fundraisers we do. One proposed idea is to send a letter in September that outlines exactly how much we need to raise, along with redesigned PTA membership envelopes for cash donations. If enough funds are raised, we might not need to do fundraisers. Some people might be opposed to this because not all families can make a cash donation. It will be discussed again in August but a preliminary letter will be drafted.
The SEA is asking for parent support at the school board meeting on 6/22/09. Contract negotiations are under way and the teachers would like to have them wrapped up by August.
The Treasurer and President distributed reimbursement checks.
