Just got back from Parkwood Elementary where I was told that the school is locked down because of a bear sighting in Twin Ponds Park.
The school website has no information right now, but keep checking:

There are news helicopters and trucks and several police and fire vehicles at the park, so bear or no bear there is obviously a disruption over there.
Nominating Committee Update. Still trying to fill positions. General membership meeting for elections and interim budget 6/4 at volunteer tea.
Barnes and Noble book fair report. No final financial report yet. Should have information within the next week.
k-6 open house tomorrow 5/14 6:30 - 8:00.
End of the year memo from council: Elections and names to the council. Interim budget and audit after June 30th. Starting the calendar for events in 2009 - 2010 school year. June 8th 6:30 - 8:30 council dessert/training function. Location Shoreline Center: cost $15 per unit.
Would like to create a calendar of yearly events to provide parents well in advance.
Highland Terrace Parenting Meeting. Would like to do alternate night to normal board meeting. Want to do on 6/9 0r 6/11. Need budget of $300 approved to get speaker. Going to pursue 6/11 as the preferred evening.
