Parkfest 2008
Saturday, June 7th
10:00am-3:30pm

This is Parkwood’s 11th annual celebration of learning and the arts. During this day long festival, the community is invited to an open house in the classrooms, student performances on stage on a rotating schedule in the gym, a book fair in the library and pizza and pop sold by the PTA.

To make this event go smoothly we need help throughout the day doing various jobs.

PTA would love to have volunteers to sell pizza and beverages

This is fun and easy, and if we have at least 3-4 people for each shift we can take turns and go see our kids perform.

  • 11:00-12:00 set up and sell or serve pizza
  • 12:00-1:00 sell and serve pizza
  • 1:00-2:00 sell and serve and clean up

Please contact Lisa Hayes to sign up for a shift at llkrhayes@yahoo.com or call 206-368-0695.

We are looking for big coolers to loan us for the day

They can be dropped off at Parkwood at 11:00 and you would need to pick it up after 1:30.

If you have a cooler and want to bring ice in it that would be great!

Please contact Lisa Hayes at llkrhayes@yahoo.com or call 206-368-0695.

We need help video taping some of the performances throughout the day

The school camera will be set up and it just needs an operator. Come for 15 minutes or however long you can record our students’ performances

If you can help with video taping, please contact Linda Leubke at lmluebke@comcast.net or Jan Avotins at javotins@comcast.net or 363-7370.

We need some muscle to help with the take down and clean up of the steel drum band at the end of the day, 3:30pm

If you can help with the take down, please contact Linda Leubke at lmluebke@comcast.net or Jan Avotins at javotins@comcast.net or 363-7370.

In years past, t-shirts have been ordered for the steel drum band

We still have past logos and designs that could be used, or you could come up with something new!

If you have some ideas or would like to head up ‘Steel Drum Band T-Shirts’, please contact Linda Leubke at lmluebke@comcast.net or Jan Avotins at javotins@comcast.net or 363-7370.

Thank you for your help and support. This is one of the best days of the year and it couldn’t be done without your help!
